PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

The Pest Management Association (PMA) was established in 2008 with the mission of promoting education in structural pest control across India. Since its inception, PMA has been at the forefront of introducing state-of-the-art techniques and methods. We are proud to highlight that Dr. Sarang Savalekar, our Past President, significantly contributed to the formulation of the Bureau of Indian Standards – Part II for Pre-Constructional Anti-Termite treatment.

PMA recognizes the importance of international collaboration, and our interaction with renowned research laboratories like Ross Life Science has become a valuable asset for pest management professionals. These collaborations help address challenges posed by climate change and unpredictable pest behavior.

Understanding the necessity for practical knowledge among the youth, PMA has embarked on a mission to conduct workshops nationwide. These initiatives aim to equip young professionals with an understanding of national and international standards, ensuring that the pest management industry is prepared for the future.

In our continuous efforts to evolve, PMA has promoted a new generation to leadership roles. This transition aims to enhance our vision and mission, aligning with the industry’s dynamic changes and socio-economic developments.

PMA has also garnered attention from academia, forming partnerships with agricultural universities and prestigious institutes like the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. In our pursuit of excellence, we have collaborated with the National Institute for Rural Development in Hyderabad to provide operators’ training programs under the Government of India’s Skill Development Program.

Our commitment to raising industry standards is unwavering. We strive to provide safe, environmentally friendly pest management solutions, promoting biodiversity and respecting ecological thresholds. By doing so, we aim to make our planet a better place, fostering coexistence and maintaining a balance within our ecosystem.
